Palmerston's waste transfer station is currently located at the Archer Waste Management Facility, off Elrundie Avenue (south of Chung Wah Terrace). It's open 7 days a week from 8am-6pm.

There are no restrictions on vehicle sizes entering the facility however your vehicle size and load needs to be able to manoeuvre, operate and ensure it does not compromise the safety or operation of normal domestic vehicles such as utes or cars towing a trailer.

Users are required to show proof of Palmerston residency, such as a driver's licence, rates notice or household mail with your address. Due to the limited capacity of the site waste from outside the municipality is not accepted.

The transfer station has a number of waste and recycling facilities available for the responsible disposal of items including:

  • General household waste
  • Green waste
  • Whitegoods
  • Cardboard and paper
  • Gas bottles
  • Steel/metal
  • Glass
  • Cans
  • Small plastics

The transfer station does not accept the following:

  • Car bodies
  • Tyres
  • Toxic substances
  • Sewerage effluent
  • Asbestos

Hazardous/chemical waste products are able to safely and correctly be disposed of at either; NTRS or Cleanaway
