Mick was born and raised in Brisbane. 

After school, he joined the Australia Army in 2006, where he was trained as a Gunner. Post-training in November 2006, he was posted to 8/12 Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. During his career, he served in Afghanistan and was sent as a representative on Exercise Long Look, the exchange program of Australian and British Officers and NCO’s and was posted to Kapooka in several Recruit Instructor positions.

In 2017, on discharge from Defence, Mick was employed as Education and Training Officer by Danila Dilba Health Service, an indigenous not-for-profit health service, operating in the greater Darwin region. 

Mick lives with his wife, Hannah, in the suburb of Driver. His interests include all codes of footy having laced up the boots at least once to jump on the field for each code.

Personal motivators include veterans’ affairs, social issues and improving the local area for everyone. If you see him getting around, don't hesitate to pull him up for a chat, he’s more than happy to talk.
