NT water safety awareness program

City of Palmerston proudly supports the NT water safety awareness program which is an NT Government initiative as part of the Five Point Water Safety Plan introduced in 2002 to reduce the rate of drowning incidents  of children aged 5 and under.

The water safety awareness program consists of five free water awareness lessons for children under the age of 5 and their parents or carers. These lessons provide instruction in emergency care, resuscitation skills and water awareness utilising both in and out of water activities.

Home pool safety 

Royal Life Saving has developed a home pool safety checklist. The checklist allows pool owners to conduct a self-assessment of the home pool and its surrounds.

Royal Life Saving encourages all pool owners to download a copy of the Home Pool Safety Checklist and complete the 8 sections.This checklist is not a substitute for a pool inspection and has been produced for education purposes only.
