Requests for up to $500

All requests to Council for grants and donations of less than $500 must:

  • Be made in writing.
  • Include description of purpose.
  • Identify how the proposed activity/event/item relates to the goals and strategies in the Municipal Plan and how it benefits the Palmerston Community.
  • Include details of need of financial or in-kind support.
  • Fulfill all eligibility criteria.
  • Include a completed Community Benefit Scheme application form of the appropriate category.

All requests to Council for grants or donations of $500 or less are to be made at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer. No acquittal is required.

All applicants must complete the $500 Grant/Donation Application Form and attach it to the written application.

 

Requests for between $501 and $2,000 

All requests to Council for grants and donations of between $501 and $2,000 must:

  • Be made in writing.
  • The organisation must provide their details including most recent audited financials, governance structure, proof of appropriate registration as a community or not-for-profit organisation, applicable insurance details, and contact details of elected office holders.
  • Include details of the project, event, or materials needed.
  • Identify how the proposed activity/event/item relates to the goals and strategies in the Municipal Plan and how it benefits the Palmerston Community.
  • Be written by someone within the organisation holding an elected office.
  • Include minuted details of the organisation’s resolution to request funding.
  • Include a completed Community Benefit Scheme application form of the appropriate category.

All applicants must complete the $501 - $2000 Grant/Donation Application Form and attach it to the written application.

 

Requests in excess of $2,000 

All requests to Council for grants and donations in excess of $2,000 must:

  • Be made in writing.
  • The organisation provide their details including most recent audited financials, governance structure, proof of appropriate registration as a community or not-for-profit organisation, applicable insurance details, and contact details of elected office holders.
  • Identify how the proposed activity/event/item relates to the goals and strategies in the Municipal Plan and how it benefits the Palmerston Community.
  • Be written by someone within the organisation holding an elected office.
  • Include minuted details of the organisation’s resolution to request funding.
  • Include a project brief including, details the project, event, or materials needed, and the projected budget.
  • Include evidence of alternate sources of funding, to a minimum of 30% of the project costs.
  • Include a completed Community Benefit Scheme application form of the appropriate category.

A full acquittal of GRANT funding will be required. No acquittal of DONATION funding is required.

All funding requests exceeding $2,000 are currently assessed by the Community, Culture and Environment Committee, a subcommittee of Council who will then make a recommendation to full Council for a final decision.

All applicants must complete the In excess of $2000 Grant/Donation Application Form and attach it to the written application.
