Recycling in Palmerston

Recycling is a great way to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. It not only makes better use of our resources, lessening the amount of garbage in landfills also reduces our greenhouse gas emissions.

Kerbside recycling is collected fortnightly from houses and weekly from unit complexes. Collection calendars are available from the Council office or online.

Items auitable for recycling include:

  • Steel & Aluminium Cans (including empty aerosols)
  • Glass Bottles & Jars
  • Milk & Juice Cartons
  • Newspapers, Cardboard, Magazines
  • Plastic Bottles & Containers
  • All other plastics excluding expanding polystyrene, plastic bags and cling wraps

Please wash all bottles, jars and cans before placing them in your recycling bin. Even one unwashed jar can contaminate an entire load, making it unable to be recycled.
