Community Grants 2010
The City of Palmerston allocates small grants for sports, recreation, cultural and other community initiatives in Palmerston through its Community Grants Scheme. There are two funding rounds each year.
The objective of this scheme is to provide small grants to enable and encourage local not-for-profit activities of high community benefit where assistance means that initiatives that are planned for or currently being conducted in Palmerston.
Applications for Round 2 of the community benefit grant scheme will open on the 8 January 2010. Community Grants are accepted throughout the year but applications are assessed twice a year.
Applications will be assessed solely according to how well they address the Strategies and Outcomes of the Municipal Plan 2009 -2014.
Grants should describe their activity in accordance with the following key result areas of the Municipal Plan 2009 - 2014:
- Accommodation and Tourism
- Health and Wellbeing
- Social Infrastructure and Programs
- Transport
- Clean and Green
The City of Palmerston's Community Grants Scheme Committee will review applications and recommend allocations to Council. All recipients of grants will be notified by mail. It is requested that funds allocated from City of Palmerston are to be spent in Palmerston wherever possible.
