Graffiti Removal and Management
On Council Property:
Council recognises that perceptions of safety and civic pride in the community are affected negatively by graffiti and vandalism. Council is committed to keeping its property graffiti free and the expedient removal of graffiti when it occurs. Council will remove offensive graffiti on council property within 24 hours and non offensive graffiti on council property within five working days.
Council has instituted a reward program for residents who provide information that leads to the successful prosecution of an offender. The resident will be entitled to the cost recouped from the successful prosecution up to and not exceeding $1,000.
Non-Council Property:
Council recognises that there can be significant financial barriers in the removal of graffiti from private property and will assist residents and property owners to remove the damage.
City of Palmerston will provide residents and businesses with a one-off, graffiti removal voucher to the value of fifty (50) dollars to purchse graffiti removal products or paint supplies should they become a victim of a graffiti attack. Remember you will be required to have made a police report prior to collecting your voucher and you will also need to show proof of ownership/tenancy of the property. Customers will need to supply their Police report reference number to obtain a voucher. A limit of one voucher per property applies.
To apply for a graffiti removal voucher please complete the Graffiti Removal Voucher Application Form and deliver to the City of Palmerston Council Office, cnr of University Ave and Chung Wah Tce.
