Waste Transfer
Palmerston's waste transfer station is currently located at the Archer Transfer Station, off Elrundie Avenue (south of Chung Wah Terrace). It is open 7 days a week from 8am to 6pm.
Access to Archer is restricted to vehicles with the capacity to carry no more than one tonne, plus standard trailers. Users are required to show proof of residence, such as a driver's licence, rates notice or household mail. No waste from outside Palmerston is accepted.
There are transfer bins for general waste, food scraps and green waste, as well as places to leave recyclable/reusable materials such as whitegoods, cardboard and paper, and gas bottles.
The transfer station does not accept the following:
• Car bodies
• Tyres
• Toxic substances
• Sewerage effluent
• Asbestos
