Rubbish truck
ecycling is a great way to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. It not only makes better use of our resources, lessening the amount of garbage in landfills but reduces our greenhouse gas emissions.

Kerbside recycling is collected fortnightly from houses and weekly from unit complexes. Collection calendars are available from the Council office or at the following link:

Items suitable for recycling include:
•    Steel & Aluminium Cans (including empty aerosols)
•    Glass Bottles & Jars
•    Milk & Juice Cartons
•    Newspapers, Cardboard, Magazines
•    Plastics #1 to #7

Please click here for more information.

Please wash all bottles, jars and cans before placing them in your recycling bin. Even one unwashed jar can contaminate an entire load, making it unable to be recycled.

If you have any questions about recycling in Palmerston, including collection days and what can be put in your recycling bin, please call 1800 645 108.
